The D-Ticket or Deutschland-Ticket is a monthly ticket subscription supported by the federal republic of Germany and the federal states, valid nationwide for local rail passenger transport (SPNV) and public transport (ÖPNV).
You can use all public transit in Germany such as: Metros, U-bahns, S-Bahns, Buses, etc. You can further use all trains (RE/RB) in Germany except the high speed trains (ICE/IC/EC) and the green Flixtrain trains. Furthermore, privately operated services like airport shuttles or sight seeing buses are not included. Nevertheless, there is almost always a public transit option available that you can use for the same trip.
The D-Ticket is valid nationwide. That means in all cities and regions across Germany.
Click on book your D-Ticket now. Insert your details. Pay with your credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. After payment confirmation you will receive a Link to your Mail address to download your D-ticket to your Apple or Google Wallet. If you let the subscription run and do not cancel it immediately, the same payment method will be used for the next month.
The D-Ticket is always valid for 1 calendar month, i.e. first to last day of the month. During the month you can use public transport as much as you like. If you activate the ticket in the middle of a month it is also only valid until the last day. That means: If you activate the ticket on the 25th of August for the current month, it will only be valid until the 31st of August.
Yes, the D-Ticket is a monthly subscription ticket. You can cancel it monthly and indicate the cancelation directly in the purchase process. If you chose the “cancel immediately” option, you will not need to worry about the extension.
You can open your D-Ticket in your Apple or Google Wallet. Opening it in any other apps is not possible. You can either download it directly or use the link in the confirmation e-mail you will receive after successfully purchasing the ticket.
While booking your D-Ticket you can choose from two options: monthly subscription or immediate termination. By clicking on immediate termination you cancel the subscription right away. If you chose the monthly subscription, you can use the link in the e-mail to cancel your subscription.
The due date to cancel subscriptions is the 10th of a month for the following month.
In the e-mail we’ve sent you after ordering your ticket, there´s a link to manage your subscription. There you can also request and download an invoice for your D-Ticket.
No, the ticket is not limited to German citizens or anything alike.
All public transit and regional train companies can sell the D-Ticket. The offers have all the identical price but differ in the easy of the purchasing process. On germanytransitpass.com, we tried to build the easiest purchasing process for tourists and visitors without the need to register or download additional apps.
The D-Ticket is only valid in second class carriages.
The ticket is personalized and can only be used by one individual. It is important, that you indicate the correct person in step 1 in the check-out process. The personal data will be used to generate the ticket and only the indicated person will be able to ride with the ticket. It can not be transferred to others. If you want to buy tickets for more than 1 person, you will need to follow the check-out process for each person individually at this point in time.
The D-Ticket does not allow you to take dogs and bicycles with you free of charge. Carriage regulations are based on the tariffs and conditions of carriage of the respective transport region and may vary depending on the route.
